RUPTL of JIIPE Combined Cycle Power Plant 4x125 MW
Project Type
Feasibility Study
Date
2022
Location
Gresik, East Java
In 2022, a feasibility study was undertaken for the development of a 4x125 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant at the Java Integrated Industrial Port and Estate (JIIPE), for PT BKMS. This study aimed to evaluate the inclusion of the project within Indonesia’s RUPTL (Electricity Supply Business Plan), focusing on the technical, environmental, and economic aspects of the proposed power plant. The combined cycle technology, which utilizes both gas and steam turbines to generate electricity, was analyzed for its efficiency and suitability in meeting the growing energy demands of the industrial estate.
The study also assessed the potential integration of this power plant into the broader energy infrastructure of East Java. By adopting combined cycle technology, the project would offer enhanced energy efficiency, lower emissions, and reduced fuel consumption compared to traditional power plants. The success of this feasibility study is a critical step in ensuring that the JIIPE power plant can contribute significantly to regional energy security, supporting the industrial activities within the estate while aligning with national energy goals.
