Technical Feasibility Study of Mobile Biomass Gasifier in Indonesia

Date

2018

Location

Indonesia

Project type

Feasibility Study

In 2018, Hafif as member of Geni, conducted a technical feasibility study on mobile biomass gasifier technology under the direction of the Ministry of Research and Technology (Ristekdikti). The study aimed to assess the viability of utilizing mobile biomass gasifiers as a renewable energy solution, particularly in rural and remote regions of Indonesia. The analysis included an evaluation of the technology's efficiency, adaptability, and scalability, as well as a comprehensive assessment of available biomass feedstock, such as agricultural residues and forest waste.

The feedstock analysis was crucial to determining the sustainability of the gasifier's operation, ensuring a consistent and reliable supply of biomass material for energy generation. The study also explored potential environmental and economic benefits, such as reducing dependency on fossil fuels and providing a decentralized power source for areas lacking grid access. The findings of this feasibility study offered valuable insights into how mobile biomass gasifiers could play a significant role in Indonesia's renewable energy landscape, supporting the nation's long-term goals for energy security and environmental sustainability.
